What has your Chamber Done recently?
- Attended the PLDT North Luzon Pasasalamat Night 2011 at the Clark Freeport.
- Completed the annual SBFCC Board of Director Elections; elected new 201 Officers.
- Hosted the General Membership Meeting at the Lighthouse Marina Resort with Chairman Roberto Garcia as keynote speaker.
- Distributed toys collected from the Subic Chamber's first Toys for Tots program to the underprivileged children of the community.
- Requested new SBMA administration to address problem of the Certificate of Ownership of Leasehold Rights (COLR) being used as collateral for bank loans.
- Solicited for and forwarded donations to the Philippine Red Cross for victims of Typhoon Sendong in Cagayan De Oro and Iligan City.
- Participated in Olongapo city Fiesta.
- Attended the Subic Enerzone's public hearing regarding its Application for Approval of the Interim Supply Agreement between Subic Enerzone Corporation and San Miguel Energy Corporation (ERC Case No. 2011-043 RC).
- Participated in the meeting with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) regarding the initiative for increased use of the Subic Bay Freeport as a shipping hub.
- Attended the Philippine Economic Briefing at Traveller's Hotel were representatives from various government agencies including NEDA and DTI, among many others, took part.
- Met with SBMA Chairman Roberto Garcia.
- Finalized the SBFCC Board of Directors election.
- Arranged the General Membership Meeting at the Lighthouse Resort.
- Met with representative of the Philippine Red Cross-Olongapo chapter regarding possible collaboration on activities in celebration of the International Year of Volunteers as declared by UN Resolution 52/17.
- Started to arranged "Toys for Tots" SBFCC Project.
- Participated as guest speaker on the AMA Computer Learning Center forum titled "Cracking the Codes to Enter the Job Market".
- Attended and participated in the SBMA Traffic Safety Board Meeting.
- Organized the donation drive for victims of typhoon Pedring where two batches of relief goods were distributed to Olongapo city and Calumpit, Bulacan.
- Organized and held the SBFCC Annual Blood Drive in cooperation with the Philipiine National Red Cross and SUbic Bay Metropolitan Authority.
- Met with the Cabinet Secretary Joel Villanueva of the Technical Education and Skills Devt Authority (TESDA) and discussed possible collaboration regarding training of potential workers for the Subic Bay Freeport.
- Met with PEME Consultancy and discussed the potential for offering other occupational safety and health trainings to locators of the Subic Bay Freeport.
- Arranged and hosted Mixer and Networking Night at Seorabeol Grand Leisure
- Attended the Luncheon Fellowship with executives of the Asia Cruise Terminal Association (ACTA)
- Participated in the Information, Education & Communication (IEC) Camapaign of RP Energy for the 600MW Circulating Fluidized Bed Coal-Fired Power Plant.
- Penned position paper regarding the inclusion of the SBFCC to the RP Energy project multi-partite monitoring team (MMT) and other suggestions to minimize the impact of the plant to Subic Bay tourism.
- Joined the ICT Council Stakeholder's meeting. The SBFCC is a Board of Trustee of the council.
- Participated in the Subic Enerzone's Public Hearing ERC Case No. 2011-121 RC at the SBECC.
- Attended the George Dewey Medical and Wellness Center inauguration of its Philhealth ward.
- Graced the opening of Steelfab Water Solutions, a new chamber member.
- Attended SBMA Administrator Arreza's Farewell/Thanksgiving celebration at the Global Terminal.
- Organized and held the International Coastal Cleanup in collaboration with SBMA, the International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians (IYFR), the Lighthouse Marina Resort, and the International Ocean COnservancy.
- Attended the Taiwanese locators meeting and discussion with officers of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office.
- Graced PLDT Innolab's Unified Conferencing (UNO) product information campaign.
- Witnessed the signing of a 25-year contract of the International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) for the operation of the Subic Bay Freeport's NCT-2
- Attended the Olongapo City Forum regarding the Redondo coal-fired power plant.
- Participated in the San Roque Karakol Festival and presented a Certificate of Recognition to the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation Team.
- Attended the Philippine Chamber of Commerce's North Luzon Area Business Conference held in Bulacan.
- Participated in the ANCOP (Answering the Cry of the Poor) Global Walk.
- Guested as speaker during the graduation ceremonies of the Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) training conducted by PEME Consultancy.
- Organized the mid-year General Membership Meeting held at the Lighthouse Marina Resort.
- Participated in the Basic Occupational Safety and Health Seminar and met with PEME Consultants regarding the provision and better availability of safety trainings inside the SUbic Bay Freeport
- Attended the Business Devt. Meeting with SBMA Administrator Arreza.
- Attended and participated in the Public Consultation and Focus Group Discussion on the SOcio-Economic Impact of the Visiting Forces Agreement in the Central Luzon COrridor.
- organized the Free Information Session on Free Trade Agreements in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry.
- Attended the PHilippine Daily Inquirer's Read-Along at the Comteq College. SBMA Garcia and Administrator Arreza lead the reading activity for Aeta Kids.
- Attended the Philippine Red Cross-Olongapo Chapter mass blood donation at the Olongapo City Convention Center.
- Attended the Philippine Retirement Authority briefing which updated and/or new Retirement Visa Packages were introduced.
- Met with Foreign Undersecretary and Visiting Forces Agreement Executive Director Edilberto Adan and Dr. Lloyd Bautista.
- Met with Ashton Data for the development of a Subic Freeport Map for tourists.
- Attended the Subicwater Public Hearing in relation to their Petition for 2011 Detailed Review of the Water Supply Rates inside and outside the Freeport.
- Crafted the SBFCC position paper regarding the Subicwater's proposed tariff increase
- Organized the new SBFCC office inauguration and blessing.
